Dec. 30
Not officially.
We woke up yesterdat to a light powder floating down from the sky. It didn't stop all day. We probably had about 2" blanketing the ground.
this morning we woke up to another 6" that fell during the night. The plows have not gone down our street yet- I'm not going anywhere today.
-In other news:
"Bella is a puppy.." is what I have been repeating to the kids CONSTANTLY. Usually followed by-
....so she chews on things
....so she nips when she plays
....so she might potty on the floor
etc.
I also have to shovel the back step and a section of grass so she will 'eliminate' outside.
She IS a puppy- but we're totally IN LOVE!

Mrs. Frederickson

Mr. Carl Frederickson
A little over a month ago Paris came to me with the cover to the UP! video game. She pointed to the picture of Mr. Frederickson and said:
"Mom, don't you think he's so cute when he smiles like this?"
I smiled and chuckled and of course, replied "Yes!"
Lots of talk about Mr. Frederickson followed over the next few days and as I started to pay attention I realized she had a bit of a 'THING' for Carl.
When I ask her who she wants to marry she doesn't hesitate one bit to say "Mr. Frederickson" (and she says it SO CUTE!)
I guess those writers did a good job at making a grumpy old man seem a bit endearing because it definately worked on my girl! It'll be funny to see how long this phase lasts.
Thanks to Aunt Mel, Uncle Josh, Ian, Lukey, and Beags for getting us UP! for Christmas- Paris has watched it 1/2 a dozen times in the 2 days we've had it unwrapped. :o)

So says SHE
She also knows how to open paint. She likes to draw.
She doesn't know how to backspace, delete, or erase. Often I find 20+ windows of paint and goodle open on my computer.
Yesterday we had a conversation that went a little like this (read with all the Paris sass you can muster):
Paris:"I can't wait until I have my own computer to play on."
Me:"Oh, are you going to get one soon?"
Paris: 'Yup"
Me:"Do you have a bunch of money? Because they cost a lot of money."
Paris: "No. I don't need money because Santa Clause is going to give it to me on Christmas."
Me: "Oh he is? How do you know that?"
Paris:"Because that's what I told him to bring me and he always brings me what I tell him to."
That girl thinks she knows everything. Of course in this case she's right- but still!
I did get a good laugh out of it though.

"Bait and Switch"
Everytime I go to Walmart Paris has to go look at the toys. It makes me smile because I remember begging my Mom to do the same thing. For months she has gone to the Barbie isle and played with the Barbie B-Smart laptop. Well, with a certain holiday approaching I decided that this would be the perfect gift for 'Santa' to bring.
I did my research. Most stores online carried the item for around $50. A little steep for this Santa. Fortunately I found 2 stores that carried it for 1/2 of that price. I think it was last years model- but I can't be sure. It looked exactly the same. One of the stores was out of stock, so I ordered it from the other.
More than a month later it still had not shipped. I decided to do some research online. Sure enough it was now listed 'Out of Stock' at the store I ordered it from. The crazy thing is that every store locally had it in stock- just not the warehouse.Even though I hadn't been charged yet, I really wanted that item. I called customer service. All they could say was "Sorry. We'll ship it when it comes in." I knew that there was no way it was going to be here by Christmas. She also suggested that I go to my local store where I could get it off the shelf. Again, for $50.
To make matters worse- I did another internet search only to find that the same toy was now up to $100+ at some stores and no where was it any cheaper than $50.
I DON'T WANT TO PAY $50! That's why I ordered it for $25!
I honestly feel like they lured me in on purpose and now expect me to pay the 50 bucks just to have it under the tree on Christmas morning. ARGH!!! It's so frustrating.
I decided to bite the bullet and paid the $50 anyway. Someday when my daughter is older and has kids of her own I'll have to tell her this story. Just the thought of seeing her on Christmas morning when she sees what 'Santa' brought will make it all worth it.
I was going to name the store but changed my mind after they totally redeemed themselves tonight.
I traveled to my local store to survey their stock of Lego's and found a suitable replacement. I talked to customer service to make sure an exchange could happen.
I guess two can play at their game!
Maybe it wasn't such a bad idea for 'Santa' to shop at this store afterall! ;o)
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

oh SNOW!
This is what we woke up to on Sunday morning. It was only the first of the storm. We got lots more that night and almost all day on Monday. Since then it's been bitter cold.

Moving down the hall
Thankfully Logan thought I did too and was willing to switch rooms with me.
With the help of burly younger brothers I was wable to move all the big stuff in just a couple hours (thanks Evan!)
Today I spent most of the day cleaning and organizing 2 boy rooms. (We had a little switching around between the boys, too)
What do I have left?
A BIGGER room with stacks and stacks of stuff. ;o)

Thanksgiving
Me? Oh, I just put a load of laundry in, breaking up a fight between my children and now I'm typing a blog post.
What? Is today a holiday? Oh, I didn't know. Seems like just another ordinary day.
Actually that's not true. Later we're taking the kids to a movie. That is far from ordinary.
I'd just like to tell you that we're doing our part to fix the recession.
'Planet 51' will be the 4th movie I have seen this week.
Yes folks! You read that correctly- 4th!
Last friday was 'The Blind Side' (Go see it...NOW!)
Saturday- 'New Moon' (Um, I think I have to see it again to know for sure what I think of it)
Last night- '2012' (which I didn't think was as bad as everyone said)
And today- 'Planet 51' (which has horrible reviews but the kids wants to see it anyway)
I don't even want to add it all up. All I know is I don't want to hand anymore money over to the Cinemark corporation. Geez, don't they know my kids need to go to college some day!
Happy Thanksgiving!

SERIOUSLY!?
We opted for 'The Bline Side' because we didn't want to have to battle the hoards of people going to see 'New Moon' (The Blind Side was PHENOMENAL!!! and don't worry, I saw New Moon on Sat.)
Since Gilbert was working late I was thankful that Jeanne's daughter, Lauren could babysit.
After the movie I asked Jeanne if we could run by an ATM to get money out to pay Lauren. I NEVER have cash and would just write her a check, but I'm out of those. She said that would be fine.
Then I remembered there was a ZION's Bank right near the theatre. We headed that direction but could not figure out how to get into the bank parking lot. After driving around and having to turn around a few times, we finally made our way to the drive up ATM.
It was freezing outside so I just handed my card to Jeanne and asked her to put it in. She joked about knowing my PIN and I assured her that it would do her no good since there's never any money in there. ;o)
For some reason the machine was not recognizing my card. We tried to insert it in several different ways- but nothing would happen. That's when I realized I handed her the wrong card. As I reached into my wallet to get my other card I made an important discovery.
Immediately I shouted "Get my Card! Get my card!" She grabbed it and looked at me and I exclaimed-
"I don't even bank here!"
Seriously? SERIOUSLY!!
Of course we laughed and laughed. But for the life of me I can't even think of why I suggested going to that bank. I have NEVER banked with Zion's bank- EVER!
Am I losing it!? Oh, I think I am! :o)
I hope you got a good laugh out of this story- I'm still laughing as I type it now.
Happy Monday!

Time Out!
I spent the last 2 days in time out..... for women!
Have you ever been?
Oh, I completely recommend it.
I am on a high and I don't want to come down.
I spent friday night and most of saturday sitting with my girlfriends listening to talks by such women as Sherri Dew, Mary Ellen Edmunds, Emily Watts, Kris Belcher, AND Sister Nelson (why can't I remember her name!?) wife of Elder Russel M. Nelson.
We were blessed with beautiful music by violinist extraordinaire: Jenny Oaks Baker (You should see her fingers move!) and the ever talented Hilary Weeks (a personal favorite!)
I wish I could express here what an amazing experience it was. I wish I could've stayed there for days. not only were the talks superb AND I might add, written expressly FOR ME :o) I was able to be there with wonderful girlfriends to visit and talk about our experiences and insights with.
Oh, It was so wonderful!
Please, go get in your own time out- I swear, you really need it! :o)

Did you know?
It's TRUE!!!
Okay, so it's not a whole pattern- but it's a start.
Please, check out my blog crazyoldladiesquilts and read all about it.
I would post more about it here but it literally took me about an hour to finalize that post and right now my fingers need a rest.
Happy day!

Platelets
By the time Friday rolled around (5 days later) I was tired of waiting. So I called the Dr. myself. To my surprise everything was normal. My cholesterol, the nurse said was 'perfect'. Also, no anemia as my red blood cell count was normal. Likewise for my white blood cell count. Everything was fine and dandy... except for my platelet count.
Apparently I have a low number of platelets. In fact, I have a count of 53, when 140 is considered normal.
HELLO!? What the heck does that mean?
Basically it explains why I bruise very easily and why the bruises don't heal very fast. It also explains why my gums sometimes bleed when I brush. (No Mom, it's not gingivitis) The platelets are what help the blood to clot and I don't have enough so it takes longer.
We were pretty worried, but I remembered that my WBC was normal so that put to rest other fears. After chatting with the Dr. he decided to re-check in a month and see where the count is. Waiting that long will give them a good idea of any changes that may take place. As for right now they have diagnosed me with- Thrombocytopenia. Which basically means 'low platelets'.
In a month they'll try to figure out why?
But for now, we sit, and wait, and try to to bump into things. ;o)
p.s.- we were freaked out at first, but now we're ok. We'll keep you posted on my medical mystery. ;o)

Ugh, is it Tuesday already?
I went to a meeting with a fabric maufacturer today to show them designs. I won't know what they think for another few weeks, but I don't think it was good. She left a few comments that let me know it wasn't what they were looking for. I know how I SHOULD feel, but it doesn't change how I ACTUALLY feel. Don't worry, I'm not giving up. I have some new designs in my head already. But today I choose to MOPE. Tomorrow I will go back to work. ;o)
In other news- we have a visitor coming tomorrow for Gilbert's prospective venture. This is really one of the last steps in the process and it has me a little anxious. It's so hard to know what to do or feel when things take so long. We just move step by step and take what we can get when we get it. In any case, Gilbert is excited and we'll keep everyone posted. (Sorry, I can't go into too much detail since this is a public blog).
Well, time to get dinner started.

I'm still here
In other news..... I am sick.
Thank you Evan for passing along your germs to my daughter who gave them to me and logan. now I don't know if that's actually what happened- but that's how the symptoms started to show up.
Everyone wants to know if we have the dreaded Swine Flu- I don't know. I don't feel like I'm on my deathbed or anything, just tired and worn out with a raspy cough. Not fun.
It should be a cardinal rule that Mom's don't get sick.
I feel a rant coming on (and believe me- I have TONS to rant about) but I'm just not feeling up to typing that much.
Instead I am going to lay on the couch until my kids are ready to go to bed.
Goodnight.

What have I done!?
I got a perm.
It's not really a secret because it's on top of my head and wherever I go you can see it.
Here's the truth-
I was REALLY excited about it.
But I HATE it.
It doesn't look good on me- AT ALL.
I've been called all sorts of names by my loving brothers and sisters.
My eldest son said "You paid money to look like that?"
And my husband keeps asking when I can go and have it 'taken out'.
But there's really not a lot I can do about it.
A little mousse. A scrunch here and there.
I look like a Q-tip.
No really, it's true.
:o)

New-Old friends
Here's the best part- I'm a grown up!
These wonderful people are those that I knew while growing up that helped shape me and guide me into who am I today (only the good parts, of course). I'm sure most of them still view me as Walt and Kathy's oldest daughter, but we talked and visited as equals- as friends. I shared stories about my children that I knew they understood because they had once been in my shoes. We talked about husbands and siblings. We shared stories of common hobbies and interests. And of course, we caught up on all the stuff in between. There were some people that I haven't seen in 16-17 years. Another I used to babysit- ans his wife! I even shook and hands and hugged almost every one of my previous Bishops. Five of them! I visited with most of my siblings and my parents and could've stayed all night.
It was a wonderful evening. I'm still smiling. ;o)

Jon and Kate
I started watching Jon and Kate plus 8 FOREVER ago. Way before it was super popular and talked about on every channel. I watched all the time and when there was a marathon on saturday's I'd watch all day. Even the episodes I'd seen before.
It used to be on at 10pm so Gilbert and I would watch together before falling asleep. We loved that show! I can't even describe the cuteness.
However, once it started to get really popular I started to lose interest in the 'trend'.
Lately, they've been all over the tabloids, magazines, entertainment tv, news, and talk shows.
I watched Kate on the View. They talk about Jon and Kate on every talk show.
Even though I don't get the channel anymore I was dying to see the season premiere in hopes that Jon and Kate would say what I wanted them to- and NOT what they actually said.
So even though I only have 4 readers I'm just going to post what I think. (because I always do!)
In my perfect world:
Jon and Kate would have announced that they were stopping the show to focus on their marriage and their family!
That is what they always said was most important to them all along. I guess we now see that fame and fortune became more important and now their ruining their lives. And really, who cares about Jon and Kate- what about the 8 kids!? (I would've named them- but that would've been too much)
So maybe only a few people will read this- but yelling at my TV everytime they mention them isn't enough anymore. ;o)

Do you know the seasons?
I didn't want to roll out of bed. It was just a stay-in-bed-all-day kinda day. But I did. Had to get them kids off to school.
I ran a few errands. Had to call Gilbert and tell him we needed new windshield wipers.
I walked into a shop and said "Happy Fall Ya'll!" And do you know what they said?
"Don't you mean winter?"
WHAT!?
When did a little rain storm become WINTER?
Just yesterday I ran the A/C. And there is no snow on the ground (that's sticking). All day the rain and clouds keep switching back and forth with the sunshine.
I would say it's FALL, wouldn't you?

Are you KIDDING me!?
So after doing this so many times and NOT seeing any new mail I decided I needed to spend my time more constructively. Now I check it twice; morning-breakfast and afternoon-cooking dinner. Sometimes I'll do a quick night-before bed check too.
Yesterday I checked in the morning and then left the house to run some errands.
Later in the afternoon I checked the email only to find an email from MODA saying "Call me as soon as you get this!" AAH! It was sent at 10:35 AM and I was checking it as 3pm.
When I grabbed the phone to call I noticed a missed call from TX (Moda) on the caller ID. another- AAAAHH!
I called and spoke with Debbie (she gave me my start with Moda). She told me they had had a problem and wanted to know if I could help- but that they solved the problem already.
What had they wanted?
OH, JUST FOR ME TO MAKE A SAMPLE FOR THEM TO HANG AT FALL MARKET IN 2 WEEKS!
Seriously, I'm sick that I missed that opportunity- but she said they'd call me next time. Ugh!

You better watch out!
BTW- Anyone want a 4yr old with WAY TOO MUCH attitude? I'll ship her out today. Sorry, no refunds.

Words of Wisdom
At the bottom of today's post was this:
Tip du jour: "Do one thing every day that scares you." - Eleanor Roosevelt
Immediately I thought: "I do. I get up!"

Life before Blogging
Every morning I sit with my bowl of cereal and read my 'morning paper'. It is my 'favorites' list of blogs. When someone hasn't posted I'm a little sad inside. I need to know about those current events.
Sometimes while dinner is cooking, and there's really not enough time to get started on something else, I scan through those blogs again. Just to make sure I didn't miss anything, or to see if there's been any late and breaking news.
My blog too, has changed me.
I started it like all those other blogs- but it didn't work. In fact, when people started 'publishing' their blogs I thought "Uh, yeah, I'm never doing that." But just now, it occured to me that my blog is my own personal journal and that I may, someday, have it printed and bound in a neat little book for my posterity to read. Of course, when they do they'll say 'Aaaah, that's why Grandma was so crazy" ;o)
I write for me. If I didn't, my thoughts would consume me. And although I don't write for my readers (all 3 of them), I don't know what I'd do without them.
I'm thankful for you readers. For your kind thoughts and comments. For helping me to feel a bit more normal. For reading what possibly could be the most uinteresting blog around. (Ok, I'm sure there's worse, but you know what I mean).
So today I blog in gratitude of blogspot for helping me to fulfil a commandment to keep a journal and for giving me friends all over the place.

CONFESSIONS
A few years before that I gave birth to my baby girl. While she was undoubtably the most wonderful baby I was hopelessly waiting to get back to being 'ME'.
Just months before Paris was born I started experiencing my first bouts of anxiety. I didn't really know what I was dealing with. I just know I felt so different that I'd ever felt before. I blamed it on the pregnancy and went on with life.
Paris was born and things didn't change.
A couple years went by and things were "O.Kay".
When I started school I finally realized- I have MAJOR anxiety. I called my Dr. the next day. and began my NEW LIFE!
Many people that know me have noticed a change, mostly my husband. It wasn't until after I started taking my "happy pills" that I realized just how bad things had gotten. But now, things are great and I think the last two years of my marriage have been the best (now that the beast has been captured).
But lately I've been questioning all the "benefits" of my "happiness" (too many quotations and parenthesis, I know.) You see, I talked to a good friend, who also happens to be a therapist a few months ago. She asked how I liked my Med's. I told her they were a miracle and I can't imagine my life without them. But she told me that some people don't like the side-effects.
I'm starting to know what she means.
I don't want to do ANYTHING. If I could, I would sit and watch TV and eat all day long. Even though while I'm sitting I feel 'anxious' because I know there is so much I should be doing. I used to go-go-go and get so much done and NOT feel stressed. Now I am a little stressed (w/ help from meds.) but I don't get much done. I think I'm a lot easier to get along with- but sometimes feel like I don't even have an opinion about things because I'm so indifferent. Does that make sense? And obviously it has contributed to the weight gain (see previous post).
Also, I've been taking a Stress Management course. (Please, don't say it.) It's got me thinking about alternative ways to battle stress.
Anyway, I'm thinking of cutting back a little. Already I know that statistically my dosage is half of the normal, which makes me feel good. But I want to cut it in half again. It's a little scray though, I don't want to wig out or turn back into a 'Crazy Lady'....
I just want to be ME again.
There's so many pro's to taking and so many con's. I like being happier and easy going- but I don't like feeling so unmotivated and lazy.
Any advice!?
Note: I'm not sure why I wrote this post. I've had this on my mind for a few days and just needed to let it go somewhere. Sorry for the length. I guess it's just standard on my blog. ;o)

Signs of the times
I was skinny.
Once I got into high school I was tall and skinny.
I was a bean pole. LITERALLY- not a curve on me!
Flat as a board and straight as an arrow.
I had to buy boys/mens jeans (before it was 'cool') because the girls' jeans had too much room in the seat and hips and looked like sting ray sails on my sides.
I was lovingly called "Olive Oyl arms" by my Dad.
My mom said I looked like a gazelle when I ran. "Graceful" she said.
At one point I went on a "See-Food" diet. You know, like the joke.
I decided that if I saw food I was going to eat it.
I didn't like being SOO skinny.
I had a great metabolism. I could eat whatever I wanted- and I did- and wouldn't gain an ounce.
I didn't care about fat content or calories. If I liked it, I would eat it.
I remember trying so hard to pass that 100lb. mark on my scale.
As I matured things got a little better and I seemed to reach my size.
My straight shape found the tiniest of curves.
I stopped growing taller and settled in at a nice 5' 8 1/2" tall.
(I always liked that 1/2". It gave me a one-up on my older brother who was 5' 8".)
My weight, too, found it's average.
I was proud that according to medical standards I was the perfect weight for someone of my height.
I maintained this for several years. I would venture to guess somewhere around a decade.
But I guess like all good things, it was bound to come to an end.
My height has not changed, but my weight has.
I look like a rough-cut board, left out in the weather, ravaged by the elements. The kind you would take to the dump because it isn't worth the work to make flat and skinny again.
These are the signs of the times!
I am no longer a kid.
I'm not a fast growing teen.
I'm not even a young adult running around after tiny children.
I am an ADULT. The second year into my 4th decade on earth and my body is changing drastically on me despite my efforts to change it.
20 lbs. more than that 'perfect' weight to my height means that I am no longer 'average'.
Now I know what most of you are thinking---
A lot of you have very nice things to say about me.
However, I would never expect any of you to honestly say "Well, it's true, you have put on a little weight." You're all just too kind.
But I know it's true, despite your efforts to make me feel good.
And so does my 4 year old daughter who so lovingly and innocently said
"Mom, it looks like there is a baby in your tummy"
And there most certainly is not! ;o)
The reason for this post is this:
I am trying to OWN this fact of life.
I will do my best to change it- but I realize my efforts my be in vain.
But at least I am no longer in denial.
And to prove it- a box of old denim ready to be dropped off at D.I.
note: the whole time I sat writing this post, my husband sat behind me peddaling away on the exercise bike. I'm sure he shed 3 lbs. just now. He is getting skinny. ;o)

To Cali and Back
I loaded up the car over a week ago with 3 kids and my brother and made the day long trek across Nevada to sunny california. I was in the door only a few minutes before my Dad escorted me around pointing out the weeks tasks. At one point I tried to tell him something, he quickly cut me off and told me he needed to tell me lots more before he'd have a chance to listen to me. ;o) I love my Dad.
I was going to tell you all the things I did while I was there- but it is a blur. All I know is that one day we went to the beach and it was wonderful. It was a quick trip, but it was fun reliving moments of my gradeschool past in a place I'd visited more than 20 years ago. (whoa!)
There was sewing- not quilting, but sewing. Table cloths and sashes. There was painting- not the painting where you dip a roller in a pan and slap it on the wall. This painting consisted of carefully mixing a tiny cup of paint to the perfect color, tracing the template onto a wall (no time to bore you with the rediculously long detail of that), and using a miniscule brush to delicately paint leaves and vines across the wall. And not just one color, but TWO- and shading. It turned out AMAZING! There were silk flowers, ribbons, and glass vases. Not to mention a couple trips each to Michael's and Hancock Fabric's.
My little sister is married. A weeks worth of work and the ceremony lasted 7 1/2 min. At least people enjoyed the reception for much longer. It was beautiful. It is done.
I rested saturday night and most of sunday then packed up the van (with more that I went out with) and trekked back across nevada.
I can't wait to go back to california for a REAL vacation next time. ;o)

SUPER WOMAN!
I'm so glad to have this forum to vent on instead of yelling at my husband. I simply texted him and told him (in a nice tone) that I didn't like how he was acting. A few text apologies and a "you're right, I need to work on scout stuff with him" made me feel much better.
And even after a looong day with the kids I still waited anxiously for Gilbert to come home from a late night at work. I read comments on my last post that brought HUGE smiles to my face- thanks girls!
Having survived yet another day I realize that I am a Super Woman. So many of us are. We may have our bad days but we get through it and then we're that much stronger!
Superwoman!?
I just had a brief conversation with gilbert as he walked out the door to go to work. He inquired about cub scout pack mtg. last night and asked if Preston got any awards. When I told him of the two belt-loops Preston earned from day camp he asked about his rank advancement. I quickly explained that Preston will not advance to a Bear until he gets his Wolf and that in order to get his Wolf he actually has to do some scouting stuff at home. The Gilbert says 'Well, I don't really care about scouting anyway, so it's not a big deal."
Right now I am fuming and VERY glad, for Gilbert's sake, that he is on his way to work.
Why is it that Women are expected to do EVERYTHING (especially the stuff that no one would ever want to do like clean baby poop off of various surfaces) and Men are only expected to do the things the WANT to do?
For example: Gilbert doesn't like to do dishes, therefore he does not do them. Gilbert does not like to go grocery shopping, therefore he does not go. Gilbert does not like to fold/hang and put away laundry, therefore he does not do it. He will however put things into the washer and dryer (HIS things) but that's about it. And now, he does not like to do scouting, therefore he will not do it.
So who has to do all these things he doesn't like to do? ME.
Now I understand that he works long hours at a job that may not be favorable most days to provide for our family. And for that I truly am grateful. And usually I am understanding when he comes home from dinner, loads his plate with food, and plants himself on the computer until he falls asleep on the couch only coming up to bed sometime in the middle of the night when he wakes. He needs to unwind too. However- it's not like I live a freaking vacation everyday of my life.
School has started, for me and the kids. I am incharge of making sure they get a healthy dinner every night. Making sure they have clean and not-too-wrinkly clothes to wear every morning. I'm the one that makes sure they brush their teeth 3 times a day. I also make sure they get their homework done and do their chores. I make sure the kitchen floor gets swept. I make sure the dishes get loaded into the dishwasher AND push the start button. I also am the only one that vaccuums the house. I was told that because 'someone' does not like the cat that he would not do anything to help with the cats. So I do that too. And I also do the laundry- every part of it, not just the parts I like (which is NONE of it!).
On top of all this I am running a home based business. It started out as a way to keep my sanity but has found profitable and not always fun. Without this business there's no way we would have been able to pay bills the past few months when Gilbert's job was less than enough. So I am thankful. And I feel good that I can create a product that people demand. But it's not all play- there is a lot of work involved. Most days there are trips to the bank(s), post office, copy place, and various quilt shops. I have to make sure this all gets done w/out interfering with the other jobs- plus find time to do the 'creating' part. Let's not forget all the printing, folding, stuffing, packaging that has to be done.
Somewhere in my crazy brain I thought it would be a good idea to go back to school. this is still very important on my 'to-do' list and, because I don't want to start paying back student loans just yet, I must continue my enrollment. Add to my work load reading and assignments from an online course. this semester the class I'm taking is Stress Management- fitting don't you think?
In my spare time I am trying to lose a slowly inflating spare tire around my middle. When I get a chance I ride the exersize bike. I try to do this when no one else is around or they bug the heck out of me which makes riding a measly 30 min. seem like eternity. When I find time I feel good about exersizing. The other 5 days of the week I eat a bunch of crap because I'm depressed because there;s no time to work out.
So this morning- after my chat with my hubbie- I'm so FREAKIN' mad that my oh so busy schedule now needs to include scout activities with my son. I don't mind doing them, most of them are fun. I just don't have the time and for pete's sake am I the only one that thinks this is a perfect thing for a father and son to do together!?
Again, I will ask, why is it that just because my husband doesn't like to do something, he doesn't?
Oh, and by the way, the stuff he LIKES to do... yea, he expects me to fit that in my schedule, too! ;o)

First Day Pix
This girl was so excited to go back to Mrs.Suzan's pre-school. But of course when we got there she had a mean scowl on her face and wouldn't leave my side. She did give me a kiss and hug before I left, though.

Billy Madison
I dropped the kids off at school this morning for their first day. As I turned the car around and headed back home I began to feel anxiety. I didn't know what I was going to do. It's been too long. I had 2 hours to myself and I don't know what to do. So, like any Mom would do, I started cleaning. Funny how I don't mind it so much when I know it's actually going to stay clean for at least a couple hours. I won't tell you how long it's been since I mopped my floor. Mostly because I can't remember the last time I did it. There was no point. But today, today I have a clean floor. And it will stay that way until lunch time! ;o)
p.s.- When I go upstairs I'll post my cute Back-to-School pix of the kiddo's.....PROMISE!

A Tale of Two Tonsils
Ok, I am glad that Paris is feeling better. It was amazing. After just two doses of meds. she was feeling TONS better. But now it's been a couple days and she's back to her ol' self. Is it so wrong that I wish she was still a little bit sick? The attitude is back. The smart mouth is back. The mess maker is back. The brother-botherer is back. When she was sick she would lay on the couch and watch movies or PBS kids and sleep off and on. My house was so....PEACEFUL. Now I'm not saying she is the only person responsible for causing an uproar in this house- but she sure does a good job of it!
All I can think when she is testing my nerves is "I'm sorry Mom. This is definately payback!"

PC!
It's really hard to take a pic when you're all strapped into the ride! This is me and Gilbert on the Alpine Coaster (yes, we rode together).

Kitty pictures
Here's Mama Nija. She wasn't really in the mood for a picture- do you blame her!? The kittens names (for now) from left to right are Cookie/Cocoa; Edward; Smeagle; and Brutus.
Here's a cute little pile of kittens. I love how they sleep and crawl all over eachother. See the one laying across the top? Yup, that's Brutus.
This is Smeagle or Smeags as I like to call him (her). She's got female parts, but I still call it a him. I dunno why. She's definately my favorite. She's the runt and still noticable smaller than the rest. Whenever I get the chance I make her eat so she'll get bigger. I keep telling Gilbert that she's going to have to stay, but he doesn't agree. I hope I win this one. Isn't that face so cute!? She's got one eye open now- hence the reason she looks like a pirate.
P.S.- anyone want a free kitten!? ;o)

Separate but Equal
Not many people can honestly say they love their jobs- but I can! Yes there are days when it gets stressful. Like when I got a package from Moda yesterday with one fabric bundle of a line that is SO NOT Crazy Old Ladies! Yet I could not go to sleep last night until I came up with a pattern for this fabric. (I'm trying to branch out!)
OK, I'll get to the point.
Last week I got and email from a cute girl who runs a crafty blog. She was offering me 'Free' advertising in exchange for a few patterns. I checked out her blog and immediately added it to my Favorite's List. Today is my feature on Ucreate! Go check it out!
I'm also having a contest over on my blog so if you want, skip on over and check it out!
(p.s. Mel- aren't you proud of me for finally learning how to post a link?)

Charlie
Last semester I took a Public Speaking class. One of the speeches I had to present was about pets. I chose to speak on Goldfish and bought 'Charlie' for a visual aid. Who knew he would make it this long?
Well, this morning he moved on. I woke to find him belly up in his tank. Maybe the heat got to him. I don't know. I'm a bit sad at how quickly he went. Although I have to admit that almost every morning I would look to his bowl and expect to see what I saw this morning- but it still caught me by surprise.
It's kinda weird. People often talk about how deaths come in groups. Y'know what I'm talking about, right!? Well, we said good bye to a sweet kitty last night, and a wonderfully quiet goldfish this morning.
NO MORE, O.K.!?

Happy Birth-day!
Last night Nija scratched at the bathroom door all night. She sleeps in there and we keep the door closed so she doesn't bother the kids.
Once we let her out, She quickly ran into Logan's room and climbed on his bed with him. He wasn't too happy about it, so Gilbert went in to see Nija. That's when he noticed that her 'water broke'. Logan came to my room and Gilbert locked her in Logan's room.
When I got up no one was where I thought they would be. Logan in my bed. Gilbert in Preston's bed. Preston- in Logan's room playing video games. Where's the cat?
I found her under the bed in the corner with baby kitties. I assisted a tiny bit with the last birth only because of a negelected older sibling that was getting squished behind a Mama and the wall.
They are very cute and tiny. As soon as we can get pictures, I'll post 'em.
Two kittens already have a home. So we don't have to worry too much. Already had inquiries about the others. It shouldn't be too hard to place them for adodption.
In six weeks, Nija's getting a visit to the vet! ;o)
CORRECTION: There are 5 Kittens! (I just went back to check on her since it's been a couple hours. Counted them up and found 5 kittens.)

"Here"
I am ashamed. It's been over 2 weeks since my last post. How dare I call myself a blogger!? The simple truth is this: I've had nothing to talk about.
Now don't get me wrong. We've been busy. I've been a sewing- but that's on another blog. We've had company- that's on another blog, too. (thanks, Mel) I'm not great at 'journal' type posting because I rarely load pix onto the comp. Usually I use my blog as an outlet to gripe. And quite frankly, I just don't have a lot to gripe about these days.
I know, it's darn near a miracle isn't it! ;o)

Lessons in Parenting
When I got up in the morning it was a different story. My 9 year old had all of his stuff done- even though he didn't really want to go see the train. But the 7 and 4 year old were a different story. For an hour and a half I kept after them trying to get them to get their jobs done. Finally I said "It doesn't seem like you even want to go" after which they screamed and cried and whined- but still didn't get their jobs done.
What to do!? I already knew what I needed to do- But it was the choice I didn't really want to make. I needed support. So, I called Mom. And, of course, she reinforced my decision.
We did not go see the Disney Train yesterday.
I sat the kids down and had a nice chat with them about what's expected of them. We discussed the choices that were made and how we can do better next time. I have a fun outing planned for Friday (weather permitting) so we'll see how they do.
I was bummed. I wanted to see the Disney train. But I had to teach myself a lesson in parenting and actually to be one!
(we'll see how well this lesson worked for the kids on Friday. I'll keep you posted)

Hello Again
Check out my other blog 'crazyoldladiesquilts.blogspot.com' (sorry Mel, still not getting the hang of this link thing) and see what I've been up to. Got a crazy couple of weeks coming up. But I started and finished a FANTASTIC quilt in a couple days last week. But that's about all I got done.
My diet is frustrating. Seems my body doesn't like losing weight and keeps rebeling against me. So I have been up and down the last few days. Thankfully the ups aren't as high as they once were and unfortunately the lows aren't as low as I would like. oh well. I'll keep going.
Gilbert and I decided to start running in the morning. Monday he was too tired so we slept in. This morning I didn't get up (I was still bitter towards Gilbert for being a turd the night before) so Gilbert ran by himself. Hopefully I can get myself in gear! I'm just not much of a morning person. Would much rather run at night! ;o)
Thanks to an email from Mel, the kids and I are driving up to Ogden today to check out the Disney train. I PROMISE to take pix and post more about it tomorrow!
Ta-Ta for now!

My how-to Diet
So, I'm sure of the 3 people that read this post, nobody care how I'm doing on my diet. But I'm going to post about it anyway for these reasons:
1.) I said I was going to
2.) It gives me something to be accountable to.
Here's what I have been doing for the last week and a half:
-No eating out (except one night to get frozen yogurt which was disgusting. If anyone knows a good place to get frozen yogurt- please let me know!)
-Healthy food choices (For example: raisin bran w/ banana's instead of Waffle Crisp. Ham and cheese with Apple slices instead of bread. A few nuts for snack instead of fruit snacks. etc.)
-At least a 1/2 hour on the stationary bike every morning.
-Vitamins! (I feel like a GNC commercial. I take a multi-vitamin, an Omega-3 supplement, and an Acai supplement. My Mom told me to take a vitamin. Dr. Oz on Oprah told me to take Omega-3. and Acai is supossed to help with weight loss and appetite supression.)
-Portion control (eat until you're not hungry- NOT until you're full!)
The hardest part of all of this is fighting my Food Addiction. It is not easy. But having the goal to not eat out helps. Also, telling people about it holds me accountable. After a couple days though, its not so bad. It also helps that me hubby is doing it all, too!
This morning's weigh in- (1)45.6!
Friday, June 5, 2009
Goals
-Don't spend for one day (I'm opting for an every-other-day approach but NOT spending double on the on days)
- Don't use the credit card for one week (I don't know when the last time I used credit was- no big deal)
-Don't eat out at a restraunt for one month. (YES, ONE MONTH!)
If you know me then you know I LOVE eating out. This has been the hardest thing. But it has forced me to make some yummy dinners. and nutritious too.
Since I was making all of these lovely meals I decided it was time for another goal:
-Lifestyle change (a.k.a. DIET)
I know what you're thinking and that is why I have chosen to reveal- on my blog that is open to the public- that I weighed 52.4.lbs. one day a week and a half ago.
What happened to the 35lbs. listed on my driver's license?
If I get pulled over by the police I don't want to look like a liar.
So yes, I am dieting- changing my lifestyle. (more to come on 'how' later)
This morning I weighed in at 47.4 Woohoo!

Movie Wednesday

This summer I am planning a weekly excursion with the kids to break up the monotony of long summer days. Today, along with Uncle Evan, I took the kids to see the latest Pixar film- UP! Here's what they had to say about the film: (WARNING! Spoilers ahead!)
Paris
Favorite part: When the house goes up with all the balloons
Favorite character: The doggie. the brown one. the light brown one
Least Favorite part: When it got dark
Recommendation: You need to go see this movie because it's funny and bad.
Logan
Favorite part: When Russel yelled "squirrel" and made the bad guy planes crash.
Favorite Character: The talking dog
Least Favorite part: When Muntz got mad at dinner and turned into a bad guy.
Recommendation: No. I wouldn't tell them anything. I would just tell them that I saw UP!
Preston
Favorite Part: When Russel slides on the windows and makes a squeaky noise. My second favorite part is when the leader dog gets stuck in the cone of shame and Dug becomes the new alpha.
Favorite Character: Dug
Least Favorite Part: The previews before the movie
Recommendation: It was a good movie and you should go see it
Mom/Me/Emily
Favorite Part: When Kevin gets reunited with his babies
Favorite character: Ellie
Least Favorite part: All the dogs chasing the house
Recommendation: You really should see this movie. It was super cute and very fun. Also, stay for the credits to see my brother (Josh Jenny) listed under special effects! :o)
(Special thanks to Mel for giving me this cool blog idea)

No, not five! Anything but five!
"We don't have 5-piece. Only 4 or 6."
WHAT THE HECK!?
When did that happen? I've been ordering 5-piece's for YEARS. I looked up at the 99 *cent* menu and there, in plain sight 4 piece nugget- 99 *cents*
If Leno wasn't going to be done with his show I'd email him a "You know the economy's in bad shape when-" and finish by saying "a 5-piece nugget at Wendy's only comes with 4 nuggets!"
And I just want to know why there's a problem with the #5. Sure you can get one less, or one more. but 5!? Don't even think about it!
Seriously!?
p.s.- have I posted about the absent *cent* symbol on the keyboard yet!? Am I the only person that needs that anymore!?

I'm Baaa-ack!
All in all it was a good trip. Attendance was down at the show and I didn't bring in as many market orders as I'd hoped but I met a lot of people and got my name out there. In fact, I heard from a few people that during a class the teacher had them brainstorm good names and mine- "crazy old ladies" was mentioned and talked about. I thought that was kinda cool.
I took some pictures, but not as many as Dad. He even went to costco on the way home to get his prints ready. Mine will be coming along soon. But I'm not double posting. So if you want to see the pics and read the re-cap you'll have to check out the Crazy Old Ladies blog.
I'm glad to be home and to see my kids. It was only a week but I think they grew a ton while I was gone. But alas, as I asked Preston to put away his clothes and asked Logan to pick up his room, I realized we had settled right back into our roles: me- the bossy, naggy, mom. Them- children. ;o)
The best part of the trip was knowing that I didn't need to worry about my family back home. I told Gilbert I didn't care what happened while I was gone as long as I didn't come home to a messy house. I am so grateful for a wonderful Mother-in-law that was willing to give up the comforts and familiarity of her own home to take care of my 3 children, my husband, and my brother for a week while I was gone. I told Gilbert not to take advantage of having his Mommy around. The kids had a great time with her. I would say that she filled my shoes while I was gone, but she definately exceeded them. I don't think my house has looked so clean in a long time. I took her for her first pedicure last night. It was very enjoyable. I think she might be hooked now.
Time to get these troops going for the day. Ah, it's good to be home again. Check the other blog in a few days for my travelog! :o)

It's been a while
It's 12:19am here in PA and I can't sleep. Yesterday (the day before the last time I slept) we spent the day touring Amish country. It was so fun- but exhausting. Today we spent the day setting up the Crazy Old Ladies booth and then braved the crowds at Sample Spree. My body is ready for a rest, but my mind won't go to sleep. Tomorrow the show starts and I'm so excited. I just can't stop thinking about all the stuff I need. Looks like an early morning trip to Office Depot to get some last minute necessities.
Took a walk around downtown Pitts today. Took LOTS of pictures (not as many as Dad, though) I really like it here. It's beautiful. But I admit, as a tourist it's easy to think that way. If I lived here- I may think differently, but can't think of a reason why right now. There's rivers and bridges, steep hills and trees. LOTS OF TREES! It's very green here. And the country just outside of town is so peaceful feeling. Too bad PA doesn't border Mexico! LOL
Well, I guess I'll try to close my eyes again. I better not wake up thinking about the stapler I need to buy. AH!
Good night.

HMQS
WHAT WAS I THINKING!?
2500 patterns- PLUS! I have been printing, folding, stuffing. Ugh! Thankfully I've been able to rope some family members into helping. I definately couldn't have done it all without them.
Tomorrow I head to Sandy first thing in the morning to set up my 'booth'. Then I can relax for a few hours until Thursday-Friday-Saturday when I will be there ALL DAY peddling my goods.
I'm so lucky to have a hubby who supports my passions. He's been so good these past few weeks. I hope he can survive the next couple weeks while I travel around like a Crazy Old Lady!

I've done lost my mind!
School will be done tomorrow- but that's the last of my worries. I didn't do as well as I wanted this semester, but at this point I really don't care. I just need a break.
The last two days have been spent gathering the last information from the 'shop' so I can get all the taxes wrapped up- FOR THE LAST TIME! hallelujah!
The printing is out of control. Mostly because I have orders galore. Woo Hoo! This is great- but right before MARKET!? Aaaahhhh! Maybe it's just preparing me for what's to come after market. If so, bring it on. Because after all my running around back and forth to printing companies I better be getting on top of this soon.
While I've been busy doing all this running around my house has fallen into shambles. I'm not kidding. I took pictures, but alas, didn't load them to the comp. So today, despite the fact that I have taxes to wrap up, accounts to pay in Orem, cover sheets to pick up at the printer-
I AM CLEANING! I just can't stand it anymore. And knowing that next week at this time I'll be gone to SLC for 4 days and then to PA for 6, I just can't put it off anymore.
If you don't hear from me within the week- send help! ;o)

Weekend Update
Finals week. Need I say more.
My baby turned 4. I can't believe she is already. Uncle Evan bought her a toy vacuum and no batteries. After a whole day of asking I brought some home to her last night. She was asleep on the couch. I picked her up and grogily (is that a word) she looked at me through half-closed eyes and said "did you get batteries?" I replied "yes, I did" to which she said "you're the best." and then closed her eyes and returned to slumber land. Today she vacuumed the ENTIRE house, more than once. A toy vacuum WITH batteries is not a good idea when you have finals. oh well.
I'm up to my ears in patterns. Actually, I'm up to my ears in pattern orders. I cannot keep my printer stocked with ink and my shelves stocked with patterns before they're requested by another shop (usually MODA). I am not complaining- I am blessed. I'm looking into printing/publishing companies- maybe my money tree will bloom tomorrow.
1 sit up too short. Gilbert took his physical test today. He passed everything with flying colors. then it was time to do sit-ups. When you get to the point where you can't do anymore you need to stop in the 'up' position. When he was at this point (one away from the goal) he stopped in the 'up' position but the Dr. said he did it incorrectly and therefore it didn't count. AH! So, he gets to wait a month (maybe 2 weeks if we're lucky) and try again.
That's all for now!

WANTED: PRAYERS!
Gilbert has been battling a hurt back for a few weeks. It is slowly getting better and we recognize that we have been truly blessed. In fact, last week when we were in San Diego, the morning of his interview he woke up and was able to walk normally. This was HUGE because if the agents saw him limping around there was a good chance he wouldn't have passed.
Well, he passed his interview and several hours later the pain started to come back and he was limping again.
Today Gilbert got the call to schedule his PT/Physical exam. We were thinking this call would come a few weeks down the road. When the gov't tells you to do something, you do it. In this case, he cannot reschedule.
I'm asking that all of you remember him in your prayers. We know this is the right move for our family to make. His recovery is going well, he just has a little more to go.
Thanks.

Last night- Parents' Choice
Since it was our last night we talked the kids into going to P.F.Chang's for dinner. It was great and the kids actually liked it- once they realized that it really was good and that we weren't trying to poison them. :o)
At the end of the meal the waiter brough us our fortune cookies. The kids didn't really care- except Logan, whose fortune cookie read: "Be good to yourself. Dessert 3 times a week is o.k."
We really got a kick out of that one.
But the coolest fortune's were mine and Gilbert's.
My fortune read: "You deserve respect and will eventually get it" I added the italics to remind myself of that part.
Gilbert's fortune read: "Your present plans are going to succeed within the year" Obviously we were pleased considering the reason we came to San Diego anyway.
All in all it was a nice trip, but we'll be glad to be home again tomorrow evening.

On being a Mom
Upon entering the park I lined everyone up and slathered them with sunblock. Gilbert hates this part. But I insist that he put it on and he gives in. He knows that if he doesn't put it on then I will put it on for him- he doesn't like that :o) I made sure the kids' faces were done and especially their ears. Had them put on their hats and lotioned their necks. Next I did their arms and legs. Everyone covered? Great. I turned and used the car window as my mirror as I smeared it all over my face and neck (front and back). I hate putting the stuff on my face, but knew I needed more than SPF15 from my moisturizer. I'll pay for it tomorrow when I have more breakouts, but it's better than a sunburn. I covered every piggy on my feet and moved up my legs. The last thing I wanted was sunburned feet. Ever had them? Agony.
We spent the day in beautiful weather. Enjoyed Shamu and Sesame Street. And as we left the park I looked down to find my upper appendages were bright red! I worried so much about getting everyone else sunblocked that I forgot to do my arms! AAH!
That's what happens when you're a Mom, I guess. Now I get to suffer through all the pain and discomfort while everyone else has barely a golden glow.
Today, I'm lotioning myself- FIRST!!!

Good things come in small packages
We both went to the front door. As Evan turned the latch to unlock the door I peeked through the window to the porch. It took a moment to register what I saw before I started squeeling with glee. It was a small cardboard box with package tape on it that read "Moda- United Notions".
Most of you should know by now what "Moda" is. If by some chance you don't- allow me to fill you in. Moda is THE company for quilt fabric. Ok, so there's a few other good ones out there, but MODA is the BEST! Really.
I've been a big fan since I started quilting and sometimes refer to myself as a Moda-snob because I really only prefer their fabric. I also go online at LEAST once a week to see if they've added any new collections so I can be on top of it when they hit the stores.
About a month ago I was contact by Moda to distribute 'Crazy Old Ladies' patterns. I thought this was as good as it could get. Until today! I was sent 7 bundels of fabric. Not just any fabric. But new fabric lines that haven't hit the stores yet. They send them to designers so that designers can start designing and have product ready to sell when the fabric is on the shelves. This time when they sent them out to designers- I WAS ON THE LIST!

Monday, Monday (Na, Naa, Naa, Na, Na, Na)
M- More- Today I have MORE laundry than I want to do.
O- One- The number of cars we have right now leaving me stranded while Gilbert is at work.
N- None- The amount of Black Toner I have in my printer! AH!
D- Dishes- Piling up, just like the laundry. ;o)
A- A- What Canadians say at the end of every sentence. (Sorry, couldn't think of anything else)
Y- YEA!- As in YEA! the sun is shining today! It almost feels like Spring except that it's still a little cold out.

Blahg
The weather still sucks. But I got an awesome email this morning from my favorite fabric company about working with them on a coupld projects. I think right now I am on cloud 9! (That's actually not too far up there since the clouds are so low today.) But still, I am pretty stoked.
So even though it's rainy and gloomy I have a reason to smile today. I hope it can carry me through!
Thanks again for all your support!

A time to blog
Our joy of selling the shop has settled into reality as we browse a pile of bills and find out just how bad things were getting. Obviously they could've been lots worse. But right now it's down right yucky!
Gilbert connected with an old friend (his college roommate from when we met) who is also going thought the Border Patrol process. They talked on the phone for a bit about what they knew and what they might expect. We still don't know very much but it looks like we'll be putting our house on the market soon. Selling is taking a while these days and although many people keep telling us we won't have a hard time selling (I think they're just trying to be nice) we better list it now so that when/if the time comes we'll be able t go.
As much as I don't like the thought of moving (I hate it!) I'm almost just as excited to start over somewhere else. Somewhere where the sun shines in the spring.
Gosh dang it! Where are you sun? Maybe it will stop by for a visit tomorrow. I could use it.

FINALLY!
We signed. It's final. Gilbert depositied our check. As of today we are no longer SELF-EMPLOYED!
Owning our own business has been wondeful. We've been so blessed for the last five years. Ever since opening our shop we have had business when others haven't. We have learned so much about running a business. I'm so grateful that we were able to have that experience.
This has been a long time coming. We've been trying to sell for about a year. Today it has finally happened. And we couldn't be happier.
Woo Hoo!

Sunny San Diego
The last few days were BEAUTIFUL! When we left Utah it was snowy and cold. San Diego was 70+ everyday. It was so nice.
Our trip was very short. We arrived Thurs afternoon and had to leave Saturday afternoon, but it was worth it.
When we arrived on thurs our first destination was lunch. Of course we found the nearest IN-n-OUT burger and gobbled down some yummy fast food. MMmmmm! Then we checked into our hotel and decided to go for a swim. The pool was freezing and so was the hot tub. what? They had it up and running in about an hour.
Friday morning we woke and drove to Gilbert's testing site. The whole reason we were in SD was so Gilbert could take his entry exam for the Border Patrol. He was there most of the day while I drove all over SD (Thank you GPS) and visited a few quilt shops. Then I headed back to the hotel to sew while waiting for Gilbert's call. He finally called late in the afternoon to tell me he had passed with a 92%! YEA! We celebrated by heading to the beach. It was beautiful!
We slept in saturday morning (When was the last time that happened?) and then headed to the airport.
It was a very short trip. Gilbert heads back in 2 weeks for his oral interview. We expect that sometime in the next 4-6 months we'll be relocating. We're not sure where to yet. Although after being in SD we're not opposed to moving there for a time. We still don't know a whole lot, but we'll keep you all 'posted' as we go along the process.
Thank you all for your prayers and support!

I got mine- did you get yours?

Yes. I went to Wal-Mart early this morning to get my copy of Twilight. I had to go to work anyway, so I stopped by there first. I had to laugh as I pulled into the parking lot and saw a group of girls/women standing by a car talking. As I passed one of them grasped the DVD in her hands and screamed "I got it!" and was jumping up and down. Yeah, I wasn't that excited. But I can't wait to watch it again, that's for sure!
Thanks to Ashley for sending me this awesome poster. I think I'm going to save it as my laptop background just to tease Gilbert! :o)

Spring
Well, it's spring and I LOVE IT!
I hate to call the kids in at night because they're having so much fun outside. But at quarter to eight, it's time for bed.
I love wearing t-shirts and open toed shoes.
I can't wait to walk around the house in the morning and open all the blinds to let the sunlight in.
We don't get a very long spring in Utah. Before we know it it's almost too hot to go outside.
But for now, we're going to enjoy every minute of it!

Just as I expected
I don't remember what his top spot was, and apparently I did something wrong when I saved it because it's not coming up. But these things I do remember-
He had a lot of towns in the same states as me; TN, NC, WA, etc.
He also had a town in ARIZONA. I didn't have any. But alas, we could end up there anyway.
But if all else fails, he could move in with Jamie and Kevin. Gilbert's #2 spot was GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO! I definately got a laugh out of that one!
