Home Sweet Home

Here it is- our new home!

Because this was a model we have one of the nicer landscaped front yards. No backyard though. Side entry garage which is nearly impossible to park 2 cars in. That's ok- it's not like we had cars in the garage of our other homes! :o)

A pic of the dining/kitchen area:

There's a long counter/bar where all 3 stools sit. The kids LOVE to sit up there and it keeps the table clean. Unfortunately the counter is always covered with STUFF. Dark laminate floors and beautiful dark wood cabinets. There's a big pantry, a 1/2 bath and mudroom off the kitchen.

And the family room:The family room is long an narrow. Our big sectional only has a couple options because of the walkway and carpet area. But it works. We just have to keep the kids from hopping over the back of the couch. The computer desk sits in the corner.

Frank -n- Me

I went to Vegas a couple of weekends ago with the girls (friends from Payson). I may look happy here but let me assure you I AM NOT!

We're walking down the street/strip looking for a good place to eat and I look up and see this guy. All the girls are shouting "We should take a picture with him!" and I very loudly said "NO!" right as I was passing him. It's very loud there and I didn't think he heard me let alone what the girls had said. So everyone stops and I'm just standing there. He was creepy and freaking me out and I just wanted to run. Can't explain why. Maybe it was a flashback from my childhood when the neighbor used to put masks on and scar us to death. Anyway, he stares right at me and slowly starts walking right toward me. I had no where to go (there was a wall right behind me!) All I could do was smile a huge cheesy smile because I figure everyone would laugh at me if they really knew how scared I was. The girls finally snap the picture and I'm trying to get away as fast as I can so I can finally breathe. Then all of a sudden he shakes his can- ok, this is a huge gallon sized water bottle that he carries around for people to put money in. It was loud, unexpected and guess what else!? SCARY! We all screamed and then I felt obligated to give the guy some money since they took the picture of me and I had NO CASH! Luckily one of the girls stepped in because I was seriously getting ready to run.

Of course we laughed and laughed, but I had the spooky shivers up my spine for the rest of the night. :o)

I LOVE this!

I just got wind of this article. It's a MUST READ!

My thoughts:

"You read because you want it too!"

That's what I wish I could tell that girl and all the others.

Missionary work?

I think so. :o)

True Grit

Gilbert and I went to see True Grit tonight. Pardon me but I had no idea it was a remake of a John Wayne movie. I mean really, do I look like a John Wayne-type-of-girl. Anyway, ever since I saw the trailer I knew Gilbert would want to see it. (He is, in fact, a John Wayne-type-of-guy). This is the conversation that was exchanged as we exited the theatre:

Em- "Wow. That isn't the type of movie I usually go for but I really liked it."

Gib- "Oh you just liked that there was a young girl that wasn't afraid to speak her mind."

Em- "Um, yeah! That was EXACTLY why I liked it!"

:o)
