I'm still here

I have two 'draft' posts waiting to be posted. Unfortunately when I try to add the pix it won't let me. How irritating. The thing is, I haven't had the time to try and figure out why. I just keep signing back on and trying again hoping that by some small miracle they load.

In other news..... I am sick.

Thank you Evan for passing along your germs to my daughter who gave them to me and logan. now I don't know if that's actually what happened- but that's how the symptoms started to show up.

Everyone wants to know if we have the dreaded Swine Flu- I don't know. I don't feel like I'm on my deathbed or anything, just tired and worn out with a raspy cough. Not fun.

It should be a cardinal rule that Mom's don't get sick.

I feel a rant coming on (and believe me- I have TONS to rant about) but I'm just not feeling up to typing that much.

Instead I am going to lay on the couch until my kids are ready to go to bed.

Goodnight.

What have I done!?

Wanna know a secret?

I got a perm.

It's not really a secret because it's on top of my head and wherever I go you can see it.

Here's the truth-

I was REALLY excited about it.

But I HATE it.

It doesn't look good on me- AT ALL.

I've been called all sorts of names by my loving brothers and sisters.

My eldest son said "You paid money to look like that?"

And my husband keeps asking when I can go and have it 'taken out'.

But there's really not a lot I can do about it.

A little mousse. A scrunch here and there.

I look like a Q-tip.

No really, it's true.

:o)

New-Old friends

Last night I had the privledge of visiting with family and friends at a Vallejo-meets-Utah reunion of sorts. It was amazing.

Here's the best part- I'm a grown up!

These wonderful people are those that I knew while growing up that helped shape me and guide me into who am I today (only the good parts, of course). I'm sure most of them still view me as Walt and Kathy's oldest daughter, but we talked and visited as equals- as friends. I shared stories about my children that I knew they understood because they had once been in my shoes. We talked about husbands and siblings. We shared stories of common hobbies and interests. And of course, we caught up on all the stuff in between. There were some people that I haven't seen in 16-17 years. Another I used to babysit- ans his wife! I even shook and hands and hugged almost every one of my previous Bishops. Five of them! I visited with most of my siblings and my parents and could've stayed all night.

It was a wonderful evening. I'm still smiling. ;o)

Jon and Kate

Can I just say..... (of course I can!)

I started watching Jon and Kate plus 8 FOREVER ago. Way before it was super popular and talked about on every channel. I watched all the time and when there was a marathon on saturday's I'd watch all day. Even the episodes I'd seen before.

It used to be on at 10pm so Gilbert and I would watch together before falling asleep. We loved that show! I can't even describe the cuteness.

However, once it started to get really popular I started to lose interest in the 'trend'.

Lately, they've been all over the tabloids, magazines, entertainment tv, news, and talk shows.

I watched Kate on the View. They talk about Jon and Kate on every talk show.

Even though I don't get the channel anymore I was dying to see the season premiere in hopes that Jon and Kate would say what I wanted them to- and NOT what they actually said.

So even though I only have 4 readers I'm just going to post what I think. (because I always do!)

In my perfect world:
Jon and Kate would have announced that they were stopping the show to focus on their marriage and their family!

That is what they always said was most important to them all along. I guess we now see that fame and fortune became more important and now their ruining their lives. And really, who cares about Jon and Kate- what about the 8 kids!? (I would've named them- but that would've been too much)

So maybe only a few people will read this- but yelling at my TV everytime they mention them isn't enough anymore. ;o)
